Excellent sorbet and gelato. Would recommend to anyone

We read the write ups on the amazing gelato and while good it wasn't amazing (ie we have had better) but maybe this is the best in SoBe so then we are glad we found it and not wasted our time on lesser gelatos! Our favourites: mandarin; hazelnut; passionfruit and mango. We missed redeeming our discount - goes to show you show yelp check in as soon as you walk through the door!

And in conclusion...... Seriously, is there a shortage on gelato? I mean for the price they could at least put a little above the rim of the cup. Not the best gelato I've had, could at least not be skimp.

Yummy gelato and ice cream options, good quality but pretty predictable flavours. I wouldn't sit here, and would just pass by to grab something and leave.

*raspberry sorbet (omg! Yes! Not too sweet and a nice berry flavor to it. Super smooth and creamy for a sorbet. I loved this flavor!!) *lemon sorbet (amazing! Lemon was bright and citrusy. Some lemon sorbets can be ammonia-like, and thankfully this is NOT. it's so delicious and freshing on a hot day) *red orange (color is gorgeous and has a light orangey flavor, not as strong as a regular orange but still quite good) *chocolate gelato (delicious, rich and smooth; not too sweet but still has a great chocolate flavor) This place is fabulous!!! Loved the sorbet and gelato flavors. The texture are amazing and I feel like I can bathe in tubs of their stuff. I highly recommend this place to anybody who has a sweet tooth and an appreciation for quality foods.

Not the best gelato I have ever had. I stopped here because my fav gelato place, lecca lecca, is closed. Will not return. Not many choices either. Don't waste your time on the gelato.

  • Elaine H.

It is indeed a gelato world, with a variety of favors to choose from. Go for mint chocolate, the best flavor to enjoy in a shining Miami world!

They have Ferrero Rocher and Panna Cotta flavor. My life is complete. It comes with 15% off from Yelp coupon

I like gelato here. Hazelnut and watermelon are my favorite. We stopped by this place from a hot and long walk along the beach. A/c are not as cold as I expected but not too bad. The place is kinda small.... so not perfect for a big group but we could fit 6 ppl fine.

E a t | M e : Ferrero Rocher gelato? Ferli has it. Lavazza coffee and Italian crumpets for munching and chatting over. Try the focaccia panini or the pumpkin gelato, too! A m b i a n c e : Seating is simple, and the afternoons are hot, balmy but a lovely beach breeze pours in, up and down South Beach, and a cool beverage or gelato sliding down your throat is soothing and the ultimate anecdote. M o r e | B i t s : Ferli Gelato & Espresso Bar only recently opened (2011), but is a special piece of Italia in Miami. Owned, developed and created by Andrea Ferlito (Ferli is short for the family name). He wanted to bring his native Sicilia to SoBe. Now there's two locations, this one, and the one on 750 Washington, boutique number 11. The gelato is homemade and spins in an ice box, you'll get dizzy trying to find the labels. The trash can is a huge plastic ice cream cone. True story. P r o - T i p : If you're dairy free or lactose intolerant, sorbet is offered with fresh-cut fruits. Flavors include: strawberry, raspberry, lemon, mango, passion fruit, watermelon.

I'd forgotten that I'd had such an enjoyable experience at Ferli. Through no fault of its own, mind you. I'm fortunate to try many places and sometimes I forget to quickly tell the world of a place that deserves its attention. Ferli is such a place. It's well-known that I have an indomitable sweet tooth. Odds are, I'm always going to like a place that sells sweets. Odds are... but odds can be beaten. South Beach has more than a few places to sate a hankering for gelato. True. But Ferli one of the few that will offer a Yelp check-in deal that lets you save money AND eat gelato. Think about that. Think, too, about how good the gelato is. I tend to overdo when it comes to sweets. I am trying to get a handle on this but I am weak when it comes to the sweet stuff. I think I need a personal trainer and/or a shock collar around sugar. This was different. Being unable to make a decision, I opted for the homemade brownie... with strawberry gelato... and caramel gelato... and chocolate sauce... and nuts. And, I ate it all, quickly and without any regrets. AND, I'd do it again.* Soon. This is, easily, some of the best gelato the beach has to offer. The taste and consistency is just about perfect. It's easy to overlook this stretch of Washington as being for tourists. It's easy... but that would be a mistake. See why so many of your fellow Miamians are fans of Ferli. There's a reason. *I will NOT be body shamed. Well, maybe a little.

Stopped by as part of a food tour and was pleasantly surprised. Had an afogado and a turkey sandwich. Everything was fresh and delicious. They also had great service!! This is my sandwich gelato place in South Beach now!!

  • Jinesh P.

Fantastic place and flavors. Try the rum gelato. Try the pistachio. Try everything. You can't go wrong. They are always nice people and all the flavors are fantastic. I did not try anything other than gelato so I can't say much about the rest of the menu.

  • Uzuri W.

The gelato is really yummy and fresh. I had strawberry and pistachio. The staff is very friendly. They let you sample before you choose.

  • Tina T.

The ferrero rocher gelato is my favorite! It actually tastes exactly like the chocolate! Pistachio is really good also!

    (4)
  • Brett C.

This place has great gelato at a a fantastic price! Tip - use Foursquare for 15% off everything! Although the owner is Italian, they were playing super loud Spanish music outside when we were sitting out there, which is the only reason I didn't give this place a full 5 Stars. The owner's girlfriend actually was running the gelateria and was super nice and inviting. She helped us almost immediately, and she made a great cafe americano with steamed milk as well as a macchiato. At one point- one of the patrons asked "ooh what is that she's making! it looks great!" yep. it was. 4 stars!

    (4)
  • Alexandra V.

Best Gelato I have ever eaten. Pistachio, disaronno and ricotta are my favorites. It's always so creamy and delicious. Other places tend to have more Icy gelato in which I can't stand. Even their muffins are great! The staff is always so warm and ready to serve you :)

  • Babak A.

Great selection, and fresh tasting Gelatos.

    (4)
  • Marica S.

When I first moved to the beach, I swear I came here three times a week. The flavors are much more natural and tastier than the major chain gelato stores. My personal favorite is the banana split (it's heaven in your mouth). The clerk is always friendly and willing to let me try all the new flavors.

    (5)
  • Dayana P.

Good. At a convenient place. I was dying to have a ferrero one and they did not have enough, but it was early so I found it odd. I did not get to have my first choice since they were out so I was not as happy. :( Small place, but since it is hot in Miami you might want to eat the gelato outside.

  • Luis M.

UPDATE - ** Since my original review, been several more times and compared it to some of the gelato you get on Lincoln Rd, etc... and there REALLY is no comparison. Ferli is amazing!!! ** Try the affoggato!!!

Went with a few friends since one had an expiring groupon. First off, the woman behind the counter gave my friend the third degree about her groupon. Could have started off better... Both of my friends had a couple scoops. They weren't exactly enamored with theirs, and I tried theirs and concurred. I ordered a milkshake. There's does not bring all the boys to the yard. Perhaps it was my fault in ordering the wrong thing, I'd never had a gelato milkshake before and wasn't aware they were a thing. But I ordered one anyway. Mistake. The woman made it like a smoothie and mixed in ice instead of you, know milk. So I got a watershake. I wonder if she simply didn't know how to make one or this is what they think a milkshake is. It was a serious disappointment. Also, anyone that thinks this place is cheap is deluding themselves. The three of us didn't get anything big or with toppings and still needed to pay over the twenty dollar amount of the groupon, which none of us were expecting. The only reason I didn't give this place one star was that, c'mon it's gelato, it's never THAT bad. And it's not like the lady behind the counter spit in our orders. Also the woman working there was seriously smokin' hot, even by SOBE standards, and while that doesn't affect the quality of the gelato, it certainly made for a more pleasant experience. It also has a small municipal parking lot near it, so it's not totally inaccessible if you aren't just walking around. Overall I'd say it wasn't worth it, but if one is desperate for a quick scoop of gelato and is right there, they could do worse, theoretically.

Two words: Pistachio Gelato. Best I've ever ever had!

decent gelato has many flavor choices. the ones i liked are ferrero roche and passion fruit.

    (3)
  • Brad D.

So you feel like gelato or coffee on the go and you're a few blocks away, stop in here. It's cheap and delicious. You pay for the dessert not for amazing decor or beachfront location. My date had a pistachio gelato which she loved and I had an Americano since I needed a little boost which was good. Oh and it was $5 combined. Can't go wrong :)

  • Miss C.

We stumbled upon this place after leaving the beach because we were craving something sweet. I'm so glad we came to this place try their ferrero rocher gelato! It was so good we came back for more to take home.

  • Sasha C.

TO DIE FOR! We are a family that lives all over the world and have sampled many many ice creams....this little place next door to a Vietnamese restaurant we dined at a few weeks ago (i gave a negative review on) is a taste of italy right down to the owner who can not speak a word of English but greeted us with smiles and scooped up my daughters ice cream, replaced it for her free of charge when she dropped it. The taste is creamy and fresh what true italian ice cream should be....we all travelled back to Italy when entering this small simple shop on Washington Ave. They had just opened the day we entered and we were told buy the sweet girl serving the ice cream that the owner makes it all him self out back.....A not to be missed ice cream stop

    (5)
  • Ken W.

Good gelato, good service with a friendly staff. The only thing that keeps me from giving 4 or 5 stars is the price-to-portion ratio. I won't mention the name of another gelato place but I came across another place of equal quality but larger portions!

    (3)
  • matt h.

The gelato was very good. I had a scoop of both pistachio and hazelnut and both were delicious. I would give the gelato four stars. The reasons for three stars is that they were not open when we went by a little after 11am one day, and they were supposed to open at 11am and we were in a hurry and ended up not being able to use the rest of a gift certificate. Also, the coffee options left a little to be desired.

    (3)
  • Kristina H.

The staff is awesome. Such nice people. They brought our party a delicious dessert for one of our party's birthday. Everything was so good. We had a wonderful time. Cant say enough about how nice the people were!

Been here a couple of times with my girlfriend. We usually get a banana split or smoothie. I like the gelato, cause I am unable to eat dairy. The staff is friendly. décor looks fine.

  • Rach K.

Yum!!! The ferraro roche gelato was amazing. UH-MAY-ZING. It's creamy and smooth and perfectly sweet and delicious. The pistachio gelato was delicious too. It actually tasted like pistachio instead of that artificial gunk.

    (5)
  • Rezaul K.

Really yummy Gelato. We tried few different flavors, and they were all delicious. Soft, flavorful, and did not taste artificial like many Gelato places.

    (4)
  • Salmaan T.

Very tasty ice cream. The staff was friendly and allowed my family to sample a few flavors with a smile. Pistachio is as good as advertised. As is the strawberry and chocolate. Nice little shop and fairly priced.

I love the deliciousness of a warm sunny Friday, a walk with my gorgeous infant and a tasty coffee. The nice surprise was Ferli. I had never been in...not sure what compelled me to stop in, but glad I did! What a cute spot...so clean you could eat off the floors and a lovely person there working. I went in just for the coffee, but everything looked so good I decided to grab a wrap to go. Delicious! Got a veggie wrap which was super fresh and made with a really great, light bread. I'm not a Gelato girl, but they looked great. And as everyone mentioned, the place is super inexpensive. Tourists- this is better than so many of the jive places in our 'hood. Locals, make it a regular spot!

    (5)
  • Becky R.

Really delicious Ferraro Roche! It's a must In a waffle cone! Best of all the owner is super friendly. Best gelato in Miami.

    (5)
  • Kasia K.

Loved this place. I got a chicken pesto panini, an espresso and a small ferrero gelato. All were delicious and made me feel like I'm back in Italy. I would go back in a heartbeat and recommend this place!

    (5)
  • Natalie K.

Delicious breakfast. Coffee was great and the "bagel" (more like a pastry) with smoked salmon and cream cheese were great. Only misconception is that on yelp it says they open at 8, but they really open at 9. We walked in around 8:45 when they were just setting up for the day.

  • Thien H.

We must have eaten at Ferli Gelateria on the wrong day or something. The gelato tasted like it was made with skim milk, not even fat free milk. It was icy and not creamy like other gelati. I'm obsessed with all forms of ice cream and sadly this did not hit the spot. If you expect chocolate chips, chocolate ribbon, or chocolate shavings with Stracciatella or Mint Chip you will be disappointed. There were hardly any chocolate chips to be found. From my pictures you might think I ordered vanilla or something, but it was indeed the Stracciatella flavor. There were a few chips at the top of the pint, absolutely none in the middle, and some at the bottom. Same thing with the Mint Chip flavor. The Mint Chip was not very good - icy like the other flavors and it tasted like they made it with a bottle of artificially flavored syrup. Not fresh tasting. The more I dissect my gelato experience here, the more I realize that it tastes like those generic, rectangle paper boxes of sherbet from the grocery store. Is that mean? It's a little mean. The Ferrero had a tiny hint of chocolate/hazelnut flavor but it was not nearly as good as other Ferrero I've had. If this is what "real Italian" gelato tastes like, then I've been having "better than real Italian" gelato at other places. Also, the Groupon said, "Customers may receive a gift card that can be used across multiple visits." I was not issued a normal gift card. Instead they hand wrote the remaining balance on a paper, business card-sized stamp card and told me that the "gift card" would expire the same day as the Groupon's expiration date. Don't think you can just stop by to get your gift card and use it at a later date. I cannot in good conscience give this place any more stars than two. We decided to blow the whole balance on three pints and a salad so we wouldn't have to come back.

A nice gentlemen highly recommend the Ferrero Roche and the pistachio, and I must say he was absolutely right!!! I also enjoyed a latte which was perfectly made. This is a must stop to satisfy your sweet tooth. They offer other flavors of gelato, pastries, coffee, and cappuccinos. Everyone can find something they love here.

    Good gelatos (pistachio!) and coffees.

  • Susan C.

Ferli turned out to be a great dessert option after our dinner at Zen Sai last night. I had the Ferrero Roche gelato with a Macchiato and my husband had the Coconut Gelato with a Cafe Americain. After using our 15% Foursquare check-in special, I think we paid $8 and change for everything. The woman working there was really nice, but she was the only one present so some patrons seemed frustrated with the wait time. We were very happy with our gelatos/coffees, but I'm always disappointed when an "authentic Italian" gelateria does not have my favorite flavor, Stracciatella. Also, all of the stores on that block share one bathroom and the woman who was there actually had to leave the store and walk me down the block to let me into a random hallway with the bathrooms. Kinda shady...

  • Kellie P.

A good selection and quite good gelato. Some new and interesting flavors each time I'm there. I haven't tried their food (salads and sandwiches) since there's so many other options on Washington Ave, but as gelato goes, they never disappoint. There's a small counter at the window with four bar chairs good for people watching as you lick the bowl clean. Prices are a little steep ($5 for a strawberry gelato shake), but it's gelato afterall.

Love this place! It's close to the beach and I always luck out with parking. Kate is so friendly and always a delight :) They make the creamy gelato themselves and they even have a flavor called Smurf, and it's blue - my favorite color.

When I traveled through Italy, I ate a lot of gelato. This place brings pure italian gelato to Miami!! Great prices! Staff was super friendly and didn't mind sampling as many flavors as you want! I LOVED the ricotta cinnamon and I will definitely be back for more!!!!

Omg the flavors of all the gelatos are amazing I remember going on vacation with my family and this is the place we went for ice cream don't regret coming here at all!

  • Fräulein B.

Great Paninis, great location, really nice staff and more than reasonable prices, even more considering the location on Washington Avenue! If you are looking for a bite to eat at lunchtime, this is the place to go! They do Salads as well as Paninis and Gelato. We tried the Chicken Pesto and the Tuna Salad Panini. Afterwards we had a scoop of Rasberry gelato and could not be happier! The Paninis are made fresh to order and come with a little side of chips. The gelato was just as great, really tasteful and creamy? Very very nice stuff! Been there twice this week as the boyfriend and me stayed for a few days at South Beach. Definitely recommending this place!

  • Mike B.

Just one more block away from the beach is this gem of a gelateria. Compared to some other places nearby, this gelato is creamy and flavorful. Others we had in the area are icy and overly sweet. We had the dark chocolate and ricotta cinnamon were fantastic. We had two other flavors, the names escape me, but they were also great. Finally the person working was really kind and knowledgeable. Also allowed up plenty of tastings (didn't need more than two though). GO HERE NOW.

  • Yulia K.

The flavor is sooooo amazing!!!! Generally, I am not an ice cream lover. My husband and I were just biking around and as a designer, the interior of the store called my attention. We stopped to look in and were kindly greeted by an owner (italian) of course my husband didn't resist an offer to try and after I tried several flavors, I decided to get a scoop. Also they have their own pastry chef so the pastry is always fresh. I will be coming back for se Cannollis very soon!!

  • Kaya G.

Divine. Had dinner and ended up looking for the frozen yogourt place on Washington and 9th... It was gone! Continuing our gander we came across this little place with its mindblowing gelato! The flavors were so good, and the place was spotless. The girl working the counter was super nice as well. A great touch - they had a slide show up on the wall with images of how the gelato is made fresh every day... I checked in after I paid so I missed the 15% Yelp discount, but now that I'm definitely going back, it will come to use!

Delicious gelato and french macaroons. It's less than a block away from the beach.

Fantastic place. I gained 10 pounds in 1 hour. Just had to try every flavor. Great owners. Fat kid with the pretty girl. Yes that can happen.

I meant to post this about a year and a half ago...sorry it's so late. Hope it still applies... We went here late in the afternoon to use our $20 groupon, which I had purchased for $10. The deal was amazing! The gelato was delicious, the coffee great. I got a waffle cup with two scoops and a latte, my fiancé got a single scoop and a cappuccino, then we ordered a Caesar salad, just so we could get to the $20 total...everything was really good and the girls at the shop were nice too! Highly recommend this place for gelato and coffee!

    (5)
  • Nori F.

Delicious! A small place located on Washington, between 7th & 8th. We got snick snack and coconut. A lot of other flavors, including ferrero roche, coffee, dissarono

There was a lot of gelato-eating during my recent Miami vacation (occasionally twice a day), and we agreed this was our favorite place of the 3 we frequented. It was a good mix of classic and creative flavors, and nice sized portions. Plus the shop is bright and sunny, with a few outdoor high tops.

Ok, Ferli. You get your web redemption now. Tosh.0 style. The manager/owned reach out to me after reading my 1-star review that I had left previously due to the business not being open during business hours. He seemed sincere in wanting to make things right, and I said I would try them again on my next Miami trip. We went after dinner to finally use my groupon. Cashier was helpful, pleasant and no problem accepting the groupon. My friends loved their gelato. They also offer affogato, which is the best invention since polly pocket. Their curious sign, see pic, lets me know there are some real Italians behind this operation. They suggest gelato as a suitable meal replacement, which rings very familiar with some time spent in Sicily. Everyone ate a gelato-brioche sandwich for lunch. Congrat Ferli. I will be back. And: you are 100x better than that dolce vita stuff

  • Alex L.

Friendly staff. Cool spinning ice cream bar that my son loved. Gelato was pretty good

  • Jane R.

Yelp check in deal for 15% off! They also have a frequent buyer card for buy 6, get 1 free! This place, probably because of its location, is much cheaper than most other places in the area. They don't have much indoor or outdoor seating but they also offer food in addition to gelato and sorbet. On my first visit here, i got the mango sorbet and on the 2nd, I got the lemon sorbet. I enjoyed how flavorful the sorbet was. Sometimes sorbet just takes like an ice pop. This stuff was really amazing.

  • Michael S.

This place was perfect for us to visit as we were walking on the sidewalk outside. The gelato was good, nothing to write home about. The gentleman behind the counter, however, really creeped out my Honey Bunny (and she's been to more places than you have and isn't easy to creep out (unless you're an earthquake or a flood)). So, if you're standing outside Ferli, it might be worth stepping inside. Or not.

    (3)
  • Maeve M.

We came for gelato and coffee and Ferli delivered. The gelato could have been fresher and they made me iced American strangely, but it was still fun to stop there for some afternoon treats and the employees were quite helpful and friendly.

  • Christine O.

We went to a lot of gelato places and man oh man does Ferli Gelateria blow them all out of the water!! When I think of gelato, I think of the creamy kind; not the icy kind. If you're a fan of icy, this place might not be for you. But if you're looking for creamy, this is your place. Unlike most ice cream/gelato parlors who get annoyed if you want to try more than one sample and ask them questions, the staff here are happy and helpful folks. Going non-dairy? Plenty of options here are non-dairy, like our favorite = strawberry. You can taste a hint of real strawberry added. Want something nutty? Pistachio is always the way to go! Chocolatey? Ferrero rocher is a must!! Our favorite pairing = ferrero rocher + pistachio.... delicious!! Try it :) Oh yeah, don't forget to use the 15% off coupon they have if you check in... we always forgot since we were too into the yummy gelato in our hand :)
